Friends,

We have an urgent request on behalf of our remarkable Musical Ambassador in Uganda, Abaho Gift Conrad. Many of you have seen the beautiful videos from his programs — hundreds of refugees coming together around dancing, drumming, singing, and reconnecting with joy. These gatherings have become a lifeline for former child soldiers, single mothers, elders, and youth who have endured incredible hardship.

But right now, Abaho’s entire operation is at a standstill.

The van that transports people, drums, tents, food, and supplies to every program has completely broken down. After years of long-distance travel and ongoing overheating issues, the engine has failed beyond repair. With the dollar exchange rate dropping sharply in Uganda, Abaho has been forced to rent vehicles just to keep programs running — a cost that is simply not sustainable.

To restore the van and keep the healing work moving forward, Abaho urgently needs a new engine, which costs between $3,800 and $4,500. Without this repair, the programs slow to a crawl — and the communities who rely on this work lose access to one of their few sources of hope, connection, and emotional healing.

We have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Abaho get back on the road.
